Early morning pick-up in your hotel lobby and you will departure (approximately 2½ hours) to our Pacuare River put-in including a typical Costa Rican breakfast in route. Exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay (you have to option to arrive in a 4 x 4 instead of the rafting). In the Caribbean region of Costa Rica there is a protected zone of incomparable beauty that begins near the town of Siquirres and covers approximately 25,000 acres as it descends down the Talamanca Mountain Range. This is the area known as Pacuare, which constitutes one of the most important protected areas in the region. Its proximity to the lowlands and its high annual rainfall combine to nurture the complex life systems whose abundance makes for extraordinary scenic beauty. Rest of the day at leisure. You’ll wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Then head over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt,eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and coffee. The lodge employs a resident naturalist guide who will provide you with unique insights into the plant and animal world. You will enjoy a full day of activities: a canopy tour, a private guided hike through the rainforest, a therapeutic massage and planting your very own tree. All the meals included at the lodge. Departure between 9:00-10:00 am. In the morning you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rafting excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch along the river (you have the option to departure by ground). At our river take-out you will have a chance to change at our private facilities before being transferred by private transfer to Arenal Volcano. You will find in this area an amazing active volcano, a beautiful lake and a great diversity of wildlife. Arenal is most impressive at night, in the dark, burst of fire and red hot rocks are sometimes shoot hundreds of feet into the sky. Breakfast and a full day of activities for you to enjoy. In the morning experience a horseback ride to La Fortuna Waterfalls. This is a good combination of a horseback ride and a hike. Well train horses will take you until the entrance of the waterfall through pastures, forest and tall hills. The views of the Valley of San Carlos forest that surround it are spectacular. At the end of the road we will leave the horses and we will walk a natural trail to the base of the waterfall, a special place to relax and swim. Lunch included at the end of the tour. In the afternoon take an adventurous hiking tour around the Arenal Volcano and afterwards have a great relaxing time at the natural hot spring waters of Tabacon with buffet dinner included. Guanacaste, Costa Rica’s northwestern province, is best known for its number of every type, texture and color beautiful beaches and huge cattle reaches surrounded by a rich diversity of natural habitats, estuaries, posture land, dry tropical forest, marshes, rivers folklore, music, color and traditional food.
