First, Tortuguero which is one of the country's most popular eco-tourism destinations due to its extraordinary scenic beauty and its rich biodiversity. The canals, rivers, beaches, and lakes of this area are a working laboratory of rain forest, freshwater, and marine biology. In one of nature's most amazing spectacles, Leatherback turtles nest along the beaches from February to May and Green Turtles from July to October. Then to Arenal with its amazing volcano. The Arenal Volcano is the only volcano in Costa Rica constantly active since it woke up after 400 years with the big 1968 eruption producing huge ash columns, explosions & glowing red lava almost every day. Afterwards to Manuel Antonio. Manuel Antonio National Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the country. The hilly evergreen forest providing natural shade from the tropical sun lines it’s gorgeous white sand beaches. Several trails lead through dense jungle growth to hidden sandy coves and magnificent lookouts over the ocean and beaches. Finally to Corcovado located in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica which has the highest percentage of land devoted to National Parks and Forest Reserves with the greatest biodiversity of any region in the country. A remote area with pristine forest and wonderful eco tourism opportunities, the South Pacific also offers great deep-sea fishing and diving. One of "the most biologically intense places on earth", according to National Geographic this region of Costa Rica serves up gigantic portions of adventure and nature. The Osa Peninsula will not disappoint with its array of brightly colored exotic birds, azure waters, and emerald canopies that stretch for miles. ITINERARY

Day 1 | San José

Arrival and a representative from MTA Travel Solutions will assist you and take you to your hotel in San José. Overnight in San José.


Day 2 | San Jose | Tortuguero

Early departure to Tortuguero by land through the exuberant Braulio Carrillo National Park (typical Costa Rican breakfast included during the way). After a delicious lunch, take an afternoon tour to Tortuguero town, starting at the entrance to the beach in front of the hotel, and visit the Caribbean Conservation Corporation Museum and the village. Then Return by boat to the lodge for free time and to enjoy the pool area and surroundings. Dinner at lodge. Overnight in Tortuguero. (B, L, D)


Day 3 | Tortuguero

Early meeting for coffee and then a morning boat tour through the Tortuguero Canals. Return to the lodge to take a delicious breakfast and to departure by boat to the Tortuguero Hill or the National Park, where you will enjoy a hiking trip in the trails. After lunch take an afternoon canal boat tour and then return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner. At night you can take an optional night tour to search the turtle nesting (during season July - September). Overnight in Tortuguero. (B, L, D)


Day 4 | Tortuguero | Arena

Breakfast and departure from Tortuguero to Arenal Volcano. Lunch included during the way in Guápiles town. You will find in this area an amazing active volcano, a beautiful lake and a great diversity of wildlife. Arenal is most impressive at night, in the dark, burst of fire and red hot rocks are sometimes shoot hundreds of feet into the sky. Incandescent material cascades down the slopes, especially on the northwestern side. Afternoon at leisure to get to know the area and La Fortuna town. Overnight in Arenal. (B, L)


Day 5 | Arenal

Breakfast and to enjoy the white water rafting of Rio Toro. Set deep in the Costa Rican rain forests and fed by waters from the Poás Volcano, the Toro River winds 12 Km (about 8 miles) through the canyon filled with dramatic scenery and heart pumping excitement. The Toro River offers some of Costa Rica’s best white water with big waves, technical rapids and continuous whitewater. This trip is full of nonstop class 3 and 4 rapids that will challenge even our most experienced guests. Lunch included Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Arenal. (B, L)


Day 6 | Arenal | Manuel Antonio

Breakfast and prepare for the Arenal Volcano Tour. The Arenal Volcano tour transports guests to the active northwest side of the volcano. The tour begins with a hike and depending upon which side of the volcano the lava is flowing, it is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, magnificent lava rock formations and the Arenal Lake! During the tour, our experienced guides will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park. Lunch included. In the afternoon departure to Manuel Antonio. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Manuel Antonio. (B, L)


Day 7 | Manuel Antonio

Breakfast and a full day of activities. In the morning experience the Manuel Antonio National Park Tour: Follow a professional guide through one of Costa Rica’s most famous National Parks. Spectacular natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere attract many visitors to Manuel Antonio annually, venture into exploring a different world, explore a park that gathers numerous species of tropical butterflies, birds, monkeys, snakes, orchids, etc. Learn about their life cycle, their special abilities and behaviors; enjoy the guided walk inside one of the world’s finest park. Come and enjoy all the wonders you may discover in this marvelous world that awaits you. In the afternoon enjoy a canopy tour. Everyone will travel in suspension cables from platform to platform will enjoy the humid tropical forest. All of our professional guides will be happy to take you to the primary and secondary forest where you can enjoy different types of animals, birds, insects and plants. There are 16 platforms, four of them are built on the ground and the other twelve hang 90 feet above from the robust trees in the primary forest. Overnight in Manuel Antonio. (B)


Day 8 | Manuel Antonio | Corcovado

Breakfast and transfer to the local air strip to take a flight to the Southern Pacific Coast. At arrival transfer to the hotel in Corcovado. Corcovado National Park is unparalleled for natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and foliage nearly pulsing with lushness. Enormous primary growth trees dripping with epiphytic plants, such as orchids, bromeliads and ferns are numerous in this area. Corcovado National Park is an undeniably beautiful place, considered to be one of the most important natural preserves in the Americas; this virgin rain forest Park invites superlatives from all its visitors. Corcovado National Park has been called "the most biologically intense place on Earth" by National Geographic. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the area. All the meals are included at the hotel. Day 9 | Corcovado

Breakfast and to enjoy the Corcovado National Park Tour. This full day tour, accompanied by a naturalist guide, begins right after breakfast. A short 25-minute boat trip from the hotel takes you to San Pedrillo Station, the northernmost ranger station of Corcovado National Park. After disembarking, there is a walk of about an hour along the beach, to a forest trail up the Rio Pargo. Once more the rain forest story unfolds before you. The trees in this area are magnificent in height and support an outstanding variety of epiphytic plants such as orchids, bromeliads, ferns-even shrubs and small trees. Monkeys, agoutis, sloth and other critters will entertain you. By noon, the tour returns to the beach to enjoy the shade of a mango tree while watching the surf. After lunch time, a short walk; the San Pedrillo river (time to get our feet wet) brings you to a pristine rain forest waterfall. As always keep your eyes peeled for beautiful birds and secretive wildlife. Kingfishers and Jesus Christ lizards are residents of this river. In late afternoon, we board the boat and return to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Corcovado. (B, L, D)


Day 10 | Corcovado

Breakfast and experience the Caño Island Tour. It all stars with an early departure. This is an hour boat trip each way. In the early morning, we land on the island. Immediately upon arrival the guide leads a hike up to the site of the Indian graves that are found all over the central plateau, where archaeologists unearthed mysterious stone spheres and finely worked artifacts, testimonies to a vanished culture. Along the way, notable differences between the island and mainland forest will be pointed out. Following lunch time, you are at your leisure to swim and soak up the sun, you will be free to visit other parts of the island or snorkel among the corals and brightly colored reef fishes. Snorkelers will delight in the schools of brightly colored fish. By late afternoon, it's time to return to the hotel, a short distance by boat, but an entirely different world. Watch out for the dolphins along the way! Dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Corcovado. (B, L, D)


Day 11 | Corcovado | San José

After breakfast transfer to the local air strip to take your flight back to San Jose. Your transfer will be waiting for you at San Jose to take you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in San Jose. (B)


Day 12 | San José

Breakfast and transfer to the International Airport to take your flight back home after an amazing vacation in Costa Rica. (B)
